Liberia: Stranded Migrants Return Home from Neighbouring Countries
With the support from the Government of Japan, IOM missions in Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Guinea, have helped a total of 1,577 individuals to return to Liberia since 31 March 2013 (835 from Ghana, 286 from Nigeria, 149 from Sierra Leone, and 307 from Guinea. - Monday 18 November 2013

Africa: Security Council Extends AMISOM Mandate and Requests Increase Troop Strength
The Security Council on Wednesday 13 November extended the mandate of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to 31 October 2014, requesting the African Union to increase the troop strength of that regional peacekeeping body from 17,731 to a maximum of 22,126 uniformed personnel as part of overall efforts to combat the increasingly asymmetrical tactics of Al-Shabaab rebels in the country. - Tuesday 12 November 2013
