Mthunzi Mothers Meet Italian Volunteers
On this day, the mothers of the Mthunzi children met with the current group of Italian volunteers. The meeting started with a prayer at 2:30 in the afternoon. The two groups were introduced to each other, then the mothers told the volunteers about their daily activities, which include tailoring, teaching young people about HIV/AIDS, making cotton shoes, gardening, farming and even art.
The volunteers were interested in knowing the challenges that the mothers face in pursuit of the development they wish to achieve in today’s modern society.
The mothers mentioned difficulty raising school fees for their, their inability to provide proper homes and the inadequacy of health services. Some also said they sometimes lacked fertilizers for their crops, money to improve their skills and to buy work equipments.
The meeting ended with a few songs and a closing prayer at five o’clock in the evening.
