From the Mthunzi Vegetable Garden

    | These days we have planted a big filed of impwa, a local vegetable similar to eggplant. It will produce impwa at leas for a year, event if the weather will be dry. | |

    | Jack Zulu, 13, notorious for his evasions from school and from other institutions, is giving his contribution to the tomatoes filed. | |

    | Tomatoes have started flowering. When our friend from Scotland and Italy will star arriving in mid-July, they will be ripe enough to prepare sauces for a lot of spaghetti. | |

    | Stanley Machiko proudly shows one of the almost mature maize cobs. These cobs will be ready in about tow-three weeks, and will be sold green, to be roasted or boiled. We have a big field of about maize 25,000 plants, which means a production of at least 25,000 cobs, for a total value of about 2,000 euros... Unless we eat them all before! | |
