Kenya: National Hockey League Winners off to Africa Cup of Club Championships

Nairobi--- National Ladies Hockey League Champions, Orange will represent Kenya at this year’s Africa Cup of Club Championships. The pan African tournament, that will be held in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, from December 1 to 9, 2012, will see the country’s top ladies hockey team seek to regain a title they last won in 2009.
This announcement was made when the team was presented with new kit by company Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Vincent Camadro today.
“Orange as illustrated by its colour is a warm and fun-filled brand. We are proud to be the sponsors of the Orange Ladies Hockey Team because it brings out these attributes by putting up a splendid and entertaining performance for its fans. This is aptly demonstrated by the team’s consistent performance which has seen it carry the KHU League title for the past 15 consecutive years,” said Camadro.
Camadro also commended the team coach, Jos Openda, for demonstrating leadership though his futuristic approach that has seen him nurture new talent, ensuring a successful transition as well as consistency in the player pool by attracting the best talent from across the country.
“We are particularly proud to honour the bulk of our players who are also in the national women’s team. It demonstrates that the Orange Ladies Hockey team is by far, the best in the country,” added Camadro.
The week-long African Cup of Club Championships (ACCC) is to be held at the Khumalo Hockey Stadium in Bulawayo. Other countries expected to have representation at the competition are South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria and Zambia.
