The Communications Commission of Kenya’s fourth quarter industry sector statistics underscored the increase of mobile internet subscriptions in the market, contributing to 98.9 percent of the total number of subscriptions for that quarter.

The report, for the period between April – June 2012, also stated that the number of estimated internet users had risen by 18.5 % to stand at slightly over 14 million users, during the quarter under review. This was as a result of an increased demand for internet and data services as well as the heightened use of social media.
