Kenya: Barclays Wins World's Best Emerging Markets Bank Award

Nairobi- Barclays Bank of Kenya has won Global Finance magazine World’s Best Emerging Markets Bank- Kenya award.
The judging panel, comprising of industry analysts, corporate executives and banking consultants, selected Barclays Kenya in recognition of the bank’s overall performance in 2010.
Global Finance magazine assessed growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing, and innovative products to determine the World’s Best Emerging Markets Bank for Kenya.
“The award confirms that Barclays has adopted the right strategy”, said Barclays Kenya Managing Director, Adan Mohamed, while acknowledging the receipt of the award.
“We aim at demonstrating resilient ability to deliver excellent results and quality products and services, while making our customers lives much easier. The business model Barclays has built over time has enabled us to respond to market volatility and continue to grow in Kenya’s highly competitive and dynamic market”, added Mr. Mohamed.
This is the eighteenth year that the magazine has selected top banking performers in emerging markets.
The award comes three months after Barclays Kenya was awarded the “Best Retail Bank in Kenya” by Asian Banker magazine and the Best Bank in Technology by Banking Awards 2011.
Barclays has also been ranked 1st Runners Up - Best Bank in Kenya and Best Corporate Bank during the Banking Awards 2011.
