Africa Celebrates Development and Culture at UNESCO

PARIS--- African group of UNESCO Member States under the presidency of Republic of Congo at UNESCO Headquarters have organized film screenings, art exhibitions, and thematic debates to mark this year’s Africa Week that will run starting today 23 to 27 of May.
Several activities are scheduled to take place during the week, in particular presentations and round table debates on themes such as: the role of women and youth in the African Renaissance and the construction of peace; Africa, a global priority at UNESCO.
This will also be an opportunity to present books on Africa entitled Africa a Land of Talent by the writer Thibot de la Spierre and Reines d’Afrique et héroïnes de la diaspora noire by Sylvia Serbin.
The week will be concluded on 27 May with a conference on Africa and the International Year of Chemistry followed by a Gala.
