NAIROBI-- To celebrate the globally billed wedding of the year between British Royalty Prince William and love of his life Kate Middleton right here in Kenya, six leading local firms have joined forces to host a public screening of the golden event.
The public screening to be staged at the Nairobi Junction Shopping Mall is organized by wedding solutions provider and publishers Raspberry Weddings Magazines with the support of Multi Choice Kenya who will air the royal wedding live.
Between 10:30 am and 4pm today and courtesy of DSTV, Raspberry Weddings Magazine will host the live satellite screening of the Royal Wedding on Samsung LED screens in a special event geared at attracting local brides to be, wedding industry players and curious shoppers.
A wedding set-up similar to a garden ceremony will be done at the Atrium at Junction Shopping Centre to enable viewers to watch, discuss and enjoy the Royal Wedding together. The event is open to all brides and shoppers at the mall. Other partners in the screening session include The Junction Shopping Centre, Samsung Electronics, Majestic Events and Flowers by Cathy to bring to life an exquisite near real life experience.
Raspberry Weddings Magazine Director, Hope Mwinzi noted: “This is the largest wedding we are ever going to see since Princes Diana`s way back in 1981 and we feel it`s important for us to help local brides share in the moment. It will be the real Cinderella type story complete with a queen, a royal family, a carriage and an Archbishop which is every girl`s fantasy.”
She further noted that the wedding will undoubtedly provide a setting to borrow trendsetting wedding fashion and related glamour including wedding dresses, floral displays and cake designs which will also be replicated here in Kenya in coming months.
“In Kenya, we shall most definitely see some of these trends replicated from the wedding season of August through to December. I personally can`t wait to see her wedding dress and get to know the mystery designer and I will be tweeting details of the wedding all day,” affirmed Mwinzi.
Raspberry Weddings Magazine, is currently the top selling bridal magazine in East Africa reaching 4000 brides in over 100 outlets across the region and serves as a directory source for couples intending to get married in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
