Five Die in Mogadishu Clashes

Clashes between the Somali government and insurgent groups emerged in Shibis District in Mogadishu , leaving at least five dead and and 11 others injured.

The clashes which lasted for almost an hour were involved heavy exchange of fire between the two groups.

The Al-Shabaab who have accepted liability for the attacks claiming to have impounded on the government. They however declined to give the number of casualties they have on their side

Mogadishu has experienced intense violence between government forces and Islamist insurgents bent on overthrowing the current UN-backed transitional administration. [CK]
