Banned Kenyan Official To Sue the US
Kenya's Attorney General Amos wako , whose visa was revoked by the US is now threatening to take legal action against the US denying allegations that he has hindered reforms in Kenya.
Mr. Wako who has worked as an attorney general for 15 years said that the US was acting on defamatory allegations. Speaking at a press conference in Nairobi he defended himself saying that he had not obstructed or stifled the reform process.
The ban is intended to pressure the Kenyan government to speed up the reform process. The US is urging Kenya to clean up its act before the next general election to avoid a repeat of the post election violence, that claimed at least 1,300 lives after a disputed presidential election in 2007. [CK]
