Zambia: President draws key focus on education.

LUSAKA, Zambia

Zambian President Rupiah Banda has urged for more investments into the education sector to meet its needs in gearing up for the transformation of the southern Africa state into a middle-income nation by 2030.

In his speech during National educational summit where he called for the private sector and interested groups to aid in the undertaking by investing in education being the key priority towards aspiration of its vision 2030 development goals.

Banda also called for more review to improve education standards to aline with government development plan, owing much of its previous success to the private sector, which has assisted in setting up of schools..

The Finance Minister however termed limited resources as a draw back to provision of free education having very little budgetary allocation to the sector.

Zambia, with supplies of copper mines is among the highly deprived states in Africa and with large fraction of illiteracy having most of its expertise being foreigners.[ER].
