Unite, Zuma Urges Zimbabwe Rivals
South African President Jacob Zuma has urged Zimbabwe’s rival leaders to implement their power sharing accord fully and work together for the restoration of foreign aid.
Speaking after meeting both President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Zuma appealed to the two leaders to restore the confidence of the Zimbabwean people.
Tsvangirai’s Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has protested over continued harassment of its party members and exclusion in key government appointments by Mugabe’s ZANU-PF.
President Mugabe however downplayed the problems, saying they would not detract the unity government from its common vision to re-establish peace and revive Zimbabwe’s economy. [ER]
