Kenyan Teachers Plan to Strike on October 3

A Kenyan teacher’s union has announced that it will hold a nationwide strike starting October 3 to agitate for a higher pay. The date was announced by Njeru Kanyamba, the secretary-general of the Kenya Post Primary Education Teachers Union (KUPPET), who declared that talks to harmonise teachers' salaries with those of regular government civil servants had broken down.
