10 Killed as Somali Insurgents Target AU Peacekeepers

Ten Somali civilians were killed in an attack by Islamist insurgents targeting African Union peacekeepers in Southern Mogadishu, eyewitnesses have reported. The eyewitnesses say mortar fire directed a Ugandan continent of the AU mission in Somalia (AMISOM) inadvertently hit a residential area, killing the ten unsuspecting civilians and wounding scores of others. AMISOM Spokesman Baridgye Bahuko confirmed the attack, saying the AU force did not suffer any casualties.[PE]
