11 Killed as Govt Troops, Rebels Clash in Somalia

Thirteen people died as government forces and their Ethiopian allies clashed with Islamist insurgents in parts of Central and Southern Somalia. Five civilians were killed in Beletwein, where the insurgents attacked Ethiopian troops controlling the town for the third time in a month, while in Mogadishu, four people were killed when insurgent fighters attacked government troops near a hotel. Two others were killed by a mysterious hand grenade explosion at a displacement camp.[PE]
