Ten Islamist rebels were killed Sunday in a security swoop by Algerian security forces probing two separate bomb attacks that left scores dead last week. According to the country’s interior ministry, the operation in Ain Defla province led to the recovery of a cache of weapons from the rebels, including five AK47 automatic rifles, a grenade launcher and four semi-automatic guns. A group calling itself Al Qaeda's Maghreb wing claimed responsibility for last week’s bomb attacks that killed 60 people in Issers and Bouira.[PE]
