Zimbabwe Talks Resume One Day before Deadline
Talks to resolve Zimbabwe’s political crisis resumed Sunday with no clear indications of a deal, just one day ahead of the preset August 4 deadline. South African sources confirmed that negotiators from both the ruling ZANU-PF and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change had arrived in Pretoria and held a session on Sunday afternoon. The talks had broken up on Tuesday last week to allow the two sides return home for consultation with their respective leaders - President Robert Mugabe and Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai. [PE]
