32 Somali MPS Ask Prime Minister to Resign
August 1, 2008
1 August 2008
Thirty two Somali legislators have demanded the resignation Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein, accusing his government of a series of administrative violations. The legislators signed a formal document asking the Prime Minister to leave office, saying his government has at various times breached the constitution, misused state funds and interfered with the affairs of the country’s Central Bank. Neither the Hussein nor Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf have so far commented on the matter.[PE]
