At least 13 people died Tuesday in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, and the regional town of Berdale as sporadic violent clashes continued despite a recent peace deal between the government and a key alliance of opposition groups. Islamist militants attacked a police station in Mogadishu, leading to a gun battle with police that led to 6 deaths and wounded 7 people. In Berdale, militants ambushed a joint Somali-Ethiopian force and engaged them in a 20-minute battle in which 7 combatants died. [PE]
