Gunmen Kill Seven Peacekeepers in Darfur

Seven peacekeepers belonging to a joint United Nations-African Union force were killed in an attack by gunmen in Darfur. Twenty-two other members of the UNAMID peacekeeping force were wounded in the ensuing gun battle, which lasted over two hours. The gunmen, who reportedly numbered about 200, are said to have ambushed the peacekeepers while on patrol.
