A top leader of the Darfur rebel group that staged a militant attack on Khartoum in May was arraigned in court Thursday. Abdul Aziz Ashur, who is a top commander in the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), faces criminal and terrorist charges related to the unprecedented onslaught on the Sudanese capital. Ashur and JEM leader Khalil Ibrahim are brothers-in-law. [P.E.]
