Post-Election Crisis in Kenya

The independent review commission investigating Kenya’s controversial December 2007 presidential election was forced to end its morning session prematurely Friday after party supporters went rowdy. In the incident, politicians and supporters from President Mwai Kibaki’s PNU Alliance and Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement traded accusations of vote fraud and poll violence, prompting Commission chairman Johann Kriegler and his team to walk out when the shouting became uncontrollable.
