Kenya’s Justice Minister Blames Politicians for Post-Poll Violence

Kenyan Justice Minister Martha Karua has blamed politicians for the ethnic skirmishes that rocked the country after the discredited December 2007 presidential election. Speaking Thursday at a requiem mass for Assistant Minister Lorna Laboso, who died last week in a plane crash alongside Roads Minister Kipkalya Kones, Karua chided the politicians for allowing their supporters to fight each other while they themselves never engaged their rivals physically.
