Kenya will receive an extra $90 million from US sources to boost its rehabilitation programme. The country’s Prime Minister Raila Odinga received approval for the extra amount after articulating Kenya’s rebuilding and reform agenda in a meeting with US congressmen, agencies, financiers and diplomats in Washington DC. Odinga urged the West to engage Africa more in trade and investment, saying direct aid often ended up in the bank accounts of unscrupulous individuals. [P.E]
