Four Algerians have been sentenced to serve prison time with heavy fines for converting to Christianity in Tiaret, Algeria. Defence lawyer Khelloudja Khalfoun said one of the converts was sentenced to six months imprisonment alongside a $3,087 fine, while the other three will serve two months and pay a fine of $1,544 each. Two other men, who had also been arraigned with the four for “illegally practicing a non-Muslim faith", were released after renouncing their conversion. [P.E]
