Public Works and transport will get the single largest allocation of funds in Uganda’s new annual budget, raising prospects that the infrastructural boost will help hike up Uganda’s steady economic growth. Finance minister Ezra Suruma has forecast an economic growth index of 8.9% for the 2008/2009 fiscal year, up from 7.4%.
