Uganda Says 2.7 Million Children Face Forced Labour

The Ugandan government has estimated that up to 2.7 million children are subjected to hazardous child labour in the country. Gender, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Syda Bbumba says the most affected children are those orphaned by HIV/AIDS and those from backgrounds of abject poverty, adding that some of them are pushed into sex work by unscrupulous adults.[PE]
