Heavy Downpours Leave Hundreds Homeless in Burkina Faso

At least 542 people have been left homeless after heavy rains devastated their homes this week in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. According to Gabriel Semdé, the provincial director of the country’s social welfare ministry, 93 families had lost their homes and were sheltering in local schools and community centres, where the Burkinabe government has been providing tents and basic food provisions to them.
