Ugandan Peacekeeper Shot Dead in Darfur

A Ugandan peacekeeper serving in Sudan’s troubled Darfur region was found murdered in his car at an outdoor market in El Fasher, North Darfur. A spokesman for the joint UN/African Union peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Noureddine Mezni, said the officer’s body was found Wednesday, and that preliminary conclusions indicated he had been shot dead in his car and nothing was stolen from him.
