Two MDC Officials Indicted For Prejudice against State
Two officials of Zimbabwe’s opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) were charged in a Harare court Tuesday for allegedly communicating a falsehood viewed to be prejudicial to the State. MDC National Executive Officer Tichaona Augustos Mudzingwa and legislator-elect Pearson Mungofa were accused of having implied to three military officers that Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai had won a clear majority in the March 29 presidential election and the MDC was working on the presidential transition. After the charges were read, the two officials were remanded in custody. [P.E]
