United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned Tuesday that the violent clashes witnessed in recent weeks between the Burundian army and the PalipeHutu-FNL rebels are proof that the country’s peace process, which has been pursued for the last eight years, is still delicate and could easily be negated. Ban urged both the government and the FNL rebel group to cease hostilities and jumpstart negotiations towards the delayed implementation of the 2006 peace deal. [P.E]
