British journalist expelled
ADDIS ABABA- - Ethiopian authorities have ordered the expulsion of a British journalist within 24 hours for allegedly disseminating information that tarnishes the country's image, the official Ethiopian News Agency reported on Sunday.He is Anthony Mitchell, who has been working for the Nairobi-based Integrated Regional Information Network (IRIN) serving the United Nations agencies in Eastern Africa for the last three and a half years, and had also been corresponding for the Associated Press in Ethiopia for over two years.A statement by the Press Licensing and Control Department of the Ministry of Information said Mitchell had been engaged in disseminating news "tarnishing the image of the nation, repeatedly contravening journalism ethics."
