Hospital workers call off strike
26 May 2005 - Zachary Ochieng
Nairobi---Kenyatta National Hospital workers have called off their two-day strike which had paralysed operations at the country's largest teaching and referral hospital and its mortuary wing. At least 40 bodies were left uncollected from the wards, while patients went hungry for two days. The strike was called off after Health Minister Mrs Charity Ngilu threatened to sack them if they did not return to work by today. They were demanding a 600 per cent pay hike.
