IPI congress begins in Nairobi

President Mwai Kibaki will today officially open the 54th General Assembly of the International Press Institute [IPI] at Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Conference Centre. More than 300 delegates from 53 countries will discuss issues pertaining to press freedom in Africa, reporting on Africa, reporting the Islamic world and good governance. Key speakers during the three-day conference will include Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame and Wole Soyinka, a Literature Nobel Laureate.
