Seven rebel suspects arrested
The seven led by UPDF officer Lt. Napoleon Kamugisha were arrested last month in a training camp of Maramagambo forest. They appeared before magistrate Susan Kanyange who referred their bail application to the high court. It is alleged that the seven were aided by the PRA rebels in a continued plot to overthrow government between March 2003 and March 2005. Mean while it is reported that the UPDF army in Northern Uganda has failed to attack in Pader town of Northern Uganda. The UPDF northern region spokesman Lt Tabaro Kikyonkyo says the rebels attempted to attack the town from two front airfields and Pagoro Sub County in Pader district Northern Uganda. It is also reported that one member UPDF soldier has been arrested for murdering a student of Kaperabyong trading center in Gulu municipality of Northern Uganda. It is alleged that Private Tonny Eremu attached to the UPDF 4th Division shot dead Francis Ocaya a senior three year student of Lukume secondary school while on his way to buy paraffin.
