Mathare Umbrella for peace- MUFP is a peace initiative in the process of being registered as per the laws of Kenya. Once registered the peace initiative will form a basis of a partnership between Africa Peace Point and the over 200 registered grassroots community based organizations that are found and operate in the expansive Mathare that covers the areas of Mathare, Kariobangi, Huruma, Korogocho, Baba Dogo, Mathare 4 A and their environs. These grassroots based organizations are involved in a number of activities such health, sanitation, Sports and culture, poverty eradication and peace education among others.

To strive towards having a community that is free from ethnic conflicts, tribalism and insecurity, uniting all towards a more fulfilling and safe future.
Mission
To Network all member organizations of Mathare Umbrella for Peace-MUFP, and work in close partnership with APP in initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the residents of Korogocho, Mathare, Huruma, Kariobangi, Mathare four area and Baba Dogo and other neighborhoods.
Objectives
1. To Network with other organizations in order to promote peace in Korogocho, Mathare, Huruma, Kariobangi, Mathare 4 A, Baba Dogo and their neighborhoods.
2. To establish a forum for dialogue to address social-economic issues that affect the people of the above mentioned areas
3. To establish an integrated approach to address the common problems related to health, sanitation, Sports and culture, poverty eradication and peace education among others.
