This is an annual event which brings together various sectors of society including the public, the government, civil society, the private sector and members of the international community to share reflect and meditate on the year&_#8217;s economic, social political and spiritual experiences while promoting a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the land. The peace march also seeks to explore peaceful solutions to the problems facing society at the time.

The event is hosted by Africa Peace Point in conjunction with partner peace organizations both within and outside the country.

Goals
1 To bring together various sectors of the society including the government, the public, civil society and non nationals to promote peaceful coexistence.
2 To promote dialogue as the only viable way of ironing out differences between us as a community.
3 To deliberate on specific issues that may be a threat to our wellbeing and thereafter adopt appropriate mechanisms of safeguarding our society from the same.
4 To recognize and encourage talent and the positive use of energies especially among our youth.

By bringing together the three sectors of society, the peace march underscores the complimentary nature of these three chief pillars of society in addressing problems facing society.

Speeches, music and dance during the marches are used to offer variety in passing on the message of peace and reconciliation.
